OF A DIFFERENT KINGDOM (Do You know Your real Kingdom was bestowed on you? )
Text - Luke 22:24-30
Luke 22:29
And as My Father has appointed a kingdom and conferred it on Me, so do I confer on you [the privilege and decree]
In this passage the disciples of Jesus had an argument with each other about who is the greatest among them.
Jesus told them that unlike the way the people of this world who think the greatest person is the one who is a king or who had authority over others. He went on to tell them that they are not to be like the people of the world though. He told them that the greatest one among them should like the youngest, and the one who rules like he serves.
He went on to tell them that even though they will like to be the ones sitter on a table and being served by servants they should be like Him that is among them serving.
I believe this might have confused the disciples. They must have been asking themselves, what kind of place is He from, how can they greatest be the one who serves? Right from the time the greatest has been the one that was served.
Then Jesus told them in (verse 29)
And I confer (bestow) on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me.
He just told them, His Kingdom is different!
Now they understand;
*Why He talked differently.
*Why He reasoned differently
*Why He acted differently
From every other person on earth! His Kingdom was different. He is acting according to the kingdom of God and not the Kingdom of this world.
The amazing thing is He didn't just tell them the kingdom He came from, He bestowed it on them, meaning from today, you don't act or think like the Kingdom of this world! The Kingdom I come from is your Kingdom now. Live as a member of the Kingdom I come from so that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Isreal.
You see the promise He made to the disciples? Even so for us, when we live as members of the Kingdom of God here on earth that promise is for you too.
*YOU CAN'T LIVE AS ONE FROM GOD'S KINGDOM AND STARVE.
*GOD IS IN CHARGE OF THE KINGDOM AND HE TAKES CARE OF HIS OWN.
How do you live like one from the kingdom of God? Give your life to Jesus. He is the way to Kingdom. Then begin to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, He will teach how to live by the words and lifestyle of Jesus Christ.
*An example of how the Kingdom of God operates is this;
Give and it will be given to you a good measure, pressed down, shaken together will be poured into your lap. Luke 6:38
Another example of how this Kingdom Operates is this,
But this is not to be so with you; on the contrary, let him who is the greatest among you become like the youngest, and him who is the chief and leader like one who serves. Luke 22:26
A lot of people on earth might misunderstand what you are doing because they are aliens in your Kingdom. It is up to you to live correctly according to the standard of your Kingdom. When they see how God is taking care of you, they will run to you to lead them into your Kingdom!
Know who you are! You are God's child. You belong to His kingdom!!
